STD Suspension

Dirt Mag - someone finally said it. Looks like the Brits at Dirt are the only honest mag in town. The emperor really does have no clothes.

  2. I wonder how many battery packs and cables you can fit on a bike without being redundant? Fox CTD, hacked Di2, dropper post, brakes.... I wonder if you can mesh Di2 with the acros hydraulic shifting....

  5. Good article. This shit is getting out of hand. It's like 1997 all over again. I think a lot of this shit stems from the new enduro craze, and from mtbr geeks who suck at riding but have backrounds in engineering and are willing to post every 30 seconds on the forums. At some point technology starts to mess up progress and I think that point is coming soon, if not already here. The geometry thing is a whole other issue.....someone needs to do a spoof on that as well. If it were up to the forum geeks we would have all mountain bikes with 62 degree head angles, 16 inch chainstay lengths, and 11 inch BB heights, because they are badass for cornering!! Only thing is they suck for 99.9999% of the riding most people do..

  6. I blame the manufacturers. This would not be happening if there was not financial incentive for them to push what they consider to be the latest and greatest this or that into the market annually(this phenomenon actually crosses over to all industries and has more to do with first world consumer culture than anything though).

FOX, MBA, and Specialized are the axis of evil.

    Speaking of evil, I really want a '13 S Works Enduro - $3500 fame - seriously. WWJD?

Some changes have been very good - 10 speed(maybe even 11) drivetrains, dropper posts, lighter stiffer and stronger frames and components, wider rims, wider bars, slacker head angles(SLACKER!).
