If I were building an unauthorized trail in Capitol Forest....

I would not build anywhere near an authorized trail
I would not build anywhere near a trailhead
I would not cross any roads(if possible)
I would look for the deepest, darkest corner of those 90,000 acres I could find
I WOULD NOT PUT UP FLAGGING THAT MIGHT BE MISTAKEN BY DNR FORESTERS
I WOULD NOT TOUCH ANY FLAGS, SIGNS OR OTHER FORESTER INSTALLED MARKERS
I would pay real close attention to any suggestions typed in upper case
If I wanted to invite a shit storm of negative attention from the revenue generating arm of DNR and their legal apparatus I would ignore suggestions typed in upper case

  1. Now is not the time to be an idiot and build little stupid unauthorized trails that will quickly be found out and tore down. If people think it's hard to gain legitimacy now, wait until we prove AGAIN that we don't care to follow rules and just build bootleg trails anywhere we want. Show up on the first Sunday of the month and put that energy into the LLMT!!! That being said, I have no idea what you're referring to but hope nothing bad comes of it.

  3. I hope the LLMT work parties gain some momentum. I think once the upper section is done it will motivate more to come build.
