  1. hahahaaa, nice! and while remembering the thing called a 24” cruiser back in the day (the original “tweener” size?), but when do we ever see someone ripping some jump lines on one? = never. it is either 20" or 26", somehow the emergent rider consensus has come up with rules of their own, and decided upon the benchmark size for their style of riding. i see advantages to all of them, but we will always stick with what we know and feel most comfortable on.

  2. My last BMX bike was an Elf Double Cross cruiser - such a rad bike(in my memories).

I like what John had to say about we always stick to what we know - kind of like when The Prophet Wilco said - "every generation thinks its the end of the world".

  3. To me this video shows that not all believe the easier path to speed and flow (larger wheels, more travel) is always better. Nice to see this dude/company shredding on a minimalist set up and giving the finger to industry.

  4. You all are too caught up in wheel sizes (Finn). It's like going skiing and having someone hate on snowboarding, aren't we both out here in the snow sliding down the same mountain? Isn't that why we are both here? Have we forgotten that we are all just trying to ride bikes? BMX, XC, CX, DJ, DH, AM, EN, RD...its called a bicycle. The "cool" thing about this video shouldn't be that he's riding a hardtail or his wheel size, it should be the fact that he is f*cking killing it on a bike and its awesome! Stop over thinking it.

    1. I don't believe that the rise of the tweener wheel size is about making bikes more fun. All of the the 27.5" propaganda I've read talks about how much faster the middling wheels will make you. Who cares? It's the rider, not the bike, that makes a ride fun and fast.

    3. You're really whinny.
Bikes are fun. 26 is fun. 27.5 is fun. 29 is fun. Going fast is fun. If you like 26" then keep riding it.
See that was easy. Look problem solved.
Judging by this post you obviously have never ridden one, I'm basing this on the use of the term "propaganda".
"Its the rider not the bike, that makes the ride fast and fun" (improper use of of comma as well). Well that just sounds a little butthurt... Did you miss the band wagon? Are you feeling left out? I'm going to stop before I continue to ramble. Great blog though, Cap forest looks rad.

  6. I rode 29ers exclusively for two years straight, and did at least 3 races in a full lycra kit. Don't take me too seriously.

  7. I'm out! I love it. Keep this up Anonymous, and we'll give you the contributor log in. Jesus, Matt - what were you thinking? Was it worth it? I mean, I would equate that to being a dancer on the strip and coming home with lots of immediate reward(cash and illicit substances) but also bringing home the burden of knowing what you had to do to get it. I feel dirty just thinking about hunting podiums...in spandex...on wagon wheels...

  8. having a smug or humorous theme to a post might be a little fiendish, but is always a good thing, thank you finn for the post. AND finally a post with 12 comments, this is awesome, keep it up shredders!
