Some comments on logs and dirt in olympia.

log placement run afoul:

vs the joy of perfect log placement:

vs the joy of perfect dirt movement1:

perfect dirt movement2:

and perfect dirt movement3:

all three riding spots are in olympia.  The diggers of the last few images certainly put a lot of back breaking dirt movement and hand shoveling(no sign of excavator tracks and very few log fillers) into their beautiful engineering and sculpt, no wonder they put a locked chain on it...

  1. Prime examples of quality, long term builds. All killer, no filler. Gorgeous. Work worth doing well.

  2. Those chains look mighty familiar...

  3. Nice berms! My motto is if you don't have the time or patience to solidly cover with dirt than don't build it. One other thing on corners is the length. A lot of the corners on LLMT are too long for the speed you are carrying. We need to do a walk through/take notes and flag day.

  4. Excellent point! It's a shame to see nice dirt and wood lumped together so ungracefully.
